Art Historian Goes Viral For Hilarious Tips On How To Become An ‘Art Expert’ Interview

The world of art can be very hard to navigate! I’ll openly admit that even though I’m an art lover, when it comes to the bit about recognizing which time period a piece is from, I end up completely befuddled. Luckily for me, there are plenty of friendly people on the internet to set the record straight, educate us, and help make us seem like art rockstars at dinner parties and art galleries alike.

This Designer Goes Viral For Creating Outfits Based On Cleaning Products, Foods, And Drinks (16 Pics)

We’ve been in lockdown for far too long now and any means are acceptable to fight boredom. We’ve been surrounded by the same walls and items to the point that some of us have started looking at items around us from a new perspective. This fashion-forward Chilean designer definitely did. They say inspiration can strike at any moment and at any place, so how about while doing chores? 28-year-old Felipe Cavieres started creating outfits inspired by various household objects—from cleaning products to foods and drinks. His out-of-the-box thinking made him go viral on Instagram and people love his creative looks.

Instead Of Dyeing Hair, This Hairdresser Prints On It; Here Is His Beautiful “La Favorite” Collection Interview With Artist

Spanish stylist and contemporary hairdresser Alexis Ferrer has been known for creating otherworldly hairstyles during his career of over 20 years, but he has changed the fashion trends with his innovative technique of vibrant photographic printing on human hair, which has never been used before. It took years to develop until it opened a possibility to recreate complex and precise colorful designs and graphically tell a story on hair without having to dye it or use stencils.

House For Sale Goes Viral Because The More You Look, The Crazier It Gets (28 Pics)

If you liked this $159,900 house listing that looks modest at first but gets very weird very fast once you look inside, you are going to love this one.

A real estate listing of a 3,161-square-foot house in Kentucky has been going viral thanks to its 3D virtual walk-through feature that allowed users to explore the maze of rooms, porn DVDs, and boxes of “Body Skin” on their quest to find a tucked-away baptism spot turned bathtub.

Que the music: every breath you take / and every click you make / every room you shake / every step you take / sh*t gets weird.

This house may look normal on the outside, but it gets really weird when its sellers invite you in

The $375,000 property was built in 1970. It boasts two kitchens, three bedrooms, and four bathrooms.

The home has previously been used as a ‘church, school, daycare center, and home business’, according to the listing that has since been taken down, and it features separate bathrooms with urinals.

Let’s begin with the laundry room slash crime scene

And move on to this underground casino

Clearly, the owners don’t want people to see what’s inside

Seriously, what’s with all the boxes?

Apparently, this building was once a church, and people identified this unventilated bath as a spot for baptisms

But in order to enter it, you must first make your way through a huge stash of porn

Some people tried to map out this maze

Including the two-toilet restroom

At least there are a few TVs

Turns out, the strange bath was just scratching the surface of all the ridiculous things happening inside this house

Whatever the former residents were up to, they probably ran entirely on energy drinks

The house turned into a meme real quick

Imagine the electricity bill with all these appliances

These two look really similar, don’t they?

At least there’s a buffet

The property was raided in 2014 following a 4-year investigation by police, according to reports at the time by WLKY News.

At the time, police claimed there were enough stolen goods inside the building to fill several trucks.

Troy Curtis and his son Trevor Curtis pleaded not guilty in December 2014 to engaging in organized crime syndication and receiving stolen property.

It’s unclear whether the items currently seen in the 3D walkthrough are somehow connected to that case in any way.

What we do know is that the home has been sitting on the market for months.

Suddenly, it all makes sense

This Artist Creates Eerie Sculptures That Look Like Victorian-Era Ghosts Emerging From Mirrors

Michael Locascio is a New Jersey-based artist and the owner of Dellamorte & Co. – an online store that sells all sorts of eerie and macabre sculptures that draw inspiration from mythical creatures, catacombs, and mysticism. And even though Michael’s store is already incredibly successful with over 39k sales and nothing but positive reviews, one specific sculpture recently caught the attention of Twitter users.

A few days ago, Twitter user Draculasswife shared photos of one of Michael’s sculptures, a Victorian ghost emerging from an antique mirror, and it went viral almost instantly, receiving over 203 K likes. Check it out in the gallery below!

This specific sculpture is 8.5 in (21.6 cm) in size and will set you back $60.

One of his sculptures – a Victorian woman emerging from an antique mirror – recently went viral on Twitter

As for the artist himself, Michael says he studied classical sculpture at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and the Newington Cropsey Foundation, so he’s no newcomer when it comes to sculpting.

People found it both eerie and amazing

“Working with live models, skeletons, and annual cadaver dissections, I trained in anatomy and the bronze monument process there while studying at New York University,” writes the artist in his bio. “Since then I’ve worked as a fine artist in addition to building a prolific career sculpting action figures, toys, and collectible statues.”

And it even glows in the dark!

Michael says the works presented in his store reflect his fascination and appreciation for the macabre, the mythic, and the unusual. “I design, sculpt, cast and patina all the pieces for sale,” explains the artist.

Michael has even more amazing pieces of art for sale on his Etsy store – check some of them out below!

Hilariously Photoshopped House Listing Goes Viral, People On Twitter Start Having Fun ‘Improving’ It

There’s a general knowledge that if you want to sell or rent out a house or an apartment, it has to look presentable. Clean surfaces, cozy interior, nice furniture is more than enough. Unless… unless you want to take it to the next level! Which the people who shared this listing just did. And boy, did they go viral for their efforts (and Photoshop skills).

“Losing my [damn] mind at these apartment listing photos,” Caitie Delaney, one Twitter user, wrote upon sharing the screenshots of the Los Angeles listing. And we have to agree—they really are mind-boggling. There’s a reason graphic designers exist, you know! Scroll down below to have a good laugh!

More info: Twitter | Hot Pads

“Be the first to live in this amazing cottage,” the listing reads. “Not your typical 1920’s back house, this great home has been totally reimagined and reborn as an amazing modern home, retaining its classic look and feel. The best of both ‘worlds’ can be yours.”

The “best-of-both-worlds” cottage has gained some popularity since being shared on social media. Caitie’s viral Twitter thread amassed more than 50k likes and over 3k retweets. And honestly, it just made our day a little bit better.

In addition to its “classic look and feel,” the house also has an “attractive yard, your ‘own’ patio (interesting how the word ‘own’ has quotes, hm), nearby parks and equestrian areas provide great space for work and play.” And it can be yours for a little bit over 3k/a month. What a bargain!

Soon enough, people on Twitter started upgrading the listing

I’ve Been A Critical Care Nurse For 13 Years, And I’ve Never Seen Anything Like What Is Happening Now In Our Healthcare System. It Is Beyond Overwhelming

“Not only are all of us fighting to survive the contagion itself, we are fighting for protection from an industry that failed to adequately prepare us for this pandemic. Everyone is scrambling. These images stand as powerful reminders of the health crisis we are in right now. Dr. Anna Yaffee, a director of Global Health at Emory University, believes that sharing them is particularly important. “Sharing the images reinforces the point that there are people out there who are working tirelessly around the clock to provide lifesaving supportive care to those who are sick,” she commented.

But what makes frontline workers’ job particularly difficult is the shortage of protective supplies and hospital equipment. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio stated on Sunday that the city is “about 10 days away from seeing widespread shortages. If we don’t get more ventilators, people will die.”

This Is An Anesthesiologist, Dr. John Henao, Who Is Running Out Of Ppe (Personal Protective Equipment) At His Hospital

“He, like most of us, are currently working under the assumption that most people are Covid19 positive and asymptomatic, but in order to save our dwindling supplies of PPE, are only using them for known cases of Covid19. In order to safely intubate all patients he had to jerry rig his own gear. He put on a CO2 sampling nasal cannula. He then put on a regular old plastic bag on over his head with a seal (you can see he taped it tightly around his neck). He ran the oxygen at 10 L/min. He sampled his CO2 to monitor. He did this for 10 min (long enough to intubate a patient). THIS is what we have to do because we have no PPE. I am horrified. I cannot even begin to know if this is safe and cannot recommend it. But, sure, we’ll be safe with bandanas, scarves, and homemade cloth masks. (That, folks, is sarcasm). For my friends who are fellow physicians, please be safe, and for those of you who are not, please call or tweet or write your elected officials to demand that we are given adequate equipment in order to treat you safely”

My Battle Scars

My Battle Scars

“Life as a front line during this period ain’t easy, to be honest it sucks. You kiss your love ones good bye before heading to “war zone”. U wear every level of protection needed to ensure u do not be contacted with any of this virus and to not bring the virus back to the loved ones at home. You wear face shield/ goggles / N95 some even wear PAPR at work, trust me it ain’t easy to breath wearing any of those (N95 & PAPR) and with all that protection on, u work quick and fast, catching your breath with every step u make because LIVE MATTERS. After finishing your shift sweaty with tiredness, aching back, sore calf, painful ankles. you found out that not only your Annual Leaves are frozen, you are not even allowed to leave the country as a front line staff and worst of all is when you have to cancel your wedding reception because both you and your significant other are front liners and you both are needed to fight the “war” because LIVE MATTERS. Now after work I shower and wear back your uniform with pride, u take public transportation just to go home and rest because tomorrow is another for “war” but when u board the train or bus. People say u bring germs/ virus with u, that u are infecting other people and that u are INCONSIDERATE but u just be quite and leave the train or bus because u are tired after work to explain ur situation. Now u tell us how are we suppose to feel or react? Are we not human like everyone else? Don’t we have love ones too? Don’t we wish to go on a holiday too? All got to say is, I am a front line staff and this is my story.”

“Today, my husband will be trained on how to don & doff – put on and take off a full protective suit. He will learn how to use and remove his gloves, masks, & eye shield protection. His mask will be tested. His gear will be poked and prodded with him in it. His nerves will be tested too but, he won’t fuss. People are sick and this his job. My husband is also part of a medical covid_19 team that will be doing everything & giving their everything to ensure as many people as possible come out on the other side of this crisis. He, along with the every other extraordinary nurse & frontline worker knows one thing is for sure – life how we have known it won’t look the same over the next several weeks. He will have to make devestating and heartbreaking decisions. He will be super exposed to the sickest patients. Some nights he will come home and need to talk. Other nights he won’t want to speak at all and that’s ok because I will be there. I’m so grateful I can be.. My husband does not like accolades or much attention, hence the very few pics of him on IG. Though now more than ever he and every other frontline worker needs to be told they are our heroes. Please do the same. In France while in lockdown, social media users have launched an initiative to show gratitude & support we applaud To every doctor & to all the other frontline heroes thank you. Here’s A Massive Thank You To The Icu Nurses, Intensivists, And Rts Who Are Wearing This Ppe For An Upwards Of 30-40 Minutes, If Not Longer

“If you were to wear an N95 mask properly for about 5-8 minutes in a patient’s room to let’s say take your patient to the bathroom safely, administer medications, or do an assessment, you’d probably have marks similar to these on your face⁣ ⁣ Not only are you left with these temporary marks, but you quickly experience difficulty breathing after the first few minutes of applying the mask. You also start to heat up from the layers of gown, gloves, and eye shield⁣ ⁣ …so here’s a massive thank you to the ICU nurses, intensivists, and RTs who are wearing this PPE for an upwards of 30-40 minutes, if not longer, during invasive (aerosol-generating) bedside procedures. Whether they’re dealing with an extubation or are all hands on deck during a code, they deserve a huge shout out for the physical exhaustion they endure when providing the safest & best care possible to their patients ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ *Disclaimer – this photo was taken at home after wearing one of my Dad’s masks that he uses for work (he works in settings with fresh paint, dust, sanding, and welding)”

This Retired Cabinet Maker Goes Viral For Making Broken And Weird Furniture That Belongs In Disney Movies

Woodworking is a tough skill to master. It requires plenty of patience, knowledge, the right tools, and, of course, lots of practice. Once you can get a hold of the basics, you’re ready to bring the weirdest creations of your imagination to life. And it doesn’t matter whether you just enjoy looking at intricately made wood items or you’re interested in learning the craft yourself—you’ll appreciate the works of a woodworker named Henk Verhoeff, who’s guaranteed to inspire you.

More info: Facebook

Recently, a woodworker from New Zealand went viral for the unique dressers he crafts

Recently, the marvelous woodworker from Auckland, New Zealand went viral when his daughter shared Henk’s creations with fellow woodworkers in their Facebook group.

People were absolutely astonished. Apparently, Henk has mastered a one-of-a-kind furniture-making style.

The dressers he crafts may look like they have been damaged beyond repair, but they’re fully functional!

After gathering a huge amount of attention, his daughter Linda decided to create a Facebook page dedicated to showcasing the intricate furniture he makes.

When asked about his style, Henk told Bored Panda: “I describe my style of furniture as broken and weird. I like making weird furniture, something that you don’t see in a shop.”

And while one could think that he seeks inspiration from fairy tales, Henk says that all of his creations come solely from his “twisted brain.”

Just as you can guess from their appearance, these dressers aren’t easy to make. However, Henk is a master of this craft.

“It’s hard to say how long each piece takes me. It’s unset times during the week and it could easily be 80-100 hours.

Sometimes details or angles don’t work and I have to start again. I use recycled New Zealand pine, mostly, but if I can get my hands on some Rimu, I will also use that.”

Before he retired, Henk was a joiner/cabinet maker. “I have been woodworking for 53 years. Now it is just my hobby and passion,” he says.

Despite many people taking interest in buying these magical-looking dressers, Henk says that, as of now, they aren’t for sale.

“I started creating them for the pure love of it without the intention of selling them. But when I run out of space, there will be an eBay auction or two. Everything is for sale… except for my wife,” he said jokingly.

For now, the dressers are decorating Henk’s home.

Both Linda and her father didn’t expect so much attention, but it’s clear that his furniture is worth all of the praises.

“I was absolutely blown away at how this has gone viral, just a post my daughter put up on a page to share. I never expected ANYTHING like this.”

Let’s just hope that Henk continues to surprise us with his intricate pieces!

This Bride Brought Her Dog To Her “First Look” Photoshoot And The Pictures Went Viral

If you don’t know what a “first look” is, it’s a moment before the wedding ceremony where the groom and bride see each other for the first time on their wedding day. It can be quite a stressful moment so it’s not hard to see why bride-to-be Kristen Dupree was a little nervous before her “first look” photoshoot. Lucky for her, there was someone there to help her relieve the stress – her 2-year-old Labrador retriever Zeke.

The dog had been hanging out with the groom and groomsmen all day and joined Kristen on her photoshoot. Photographer Perri Farlow of Farlow Photography captured this moment and the adorable photos quickly went viral.

In an interview with Bored Panda, Perri said it’s not uncommon for couples to bring their pets to engagement sessions but seeing them on wedding days doesn’t happen often. That’s why when Kristen asked to do the photoshoot with Zeke, the photographer got very excited.

“I love when couples incorporate their pets into portrait sessions and weddings,” said Perri. “Pets bring out such honest, authentic emotion from their owners, making it so easy to capture the genuine joy they feel when they’re with their beloved pets.”

This wasn’t the first time Zeke posed in front of Perri’s camera – the couple brought the dog to their engagement photoshoot as well. “He loved playing around but when it was time to pose for photos, he was obedient and did a perfect job. He really is the best boy,” said the photographer.

“Zeke was such a calming presence for both Kristen and Duncan,” added Perri. “They obviously love Zeke and he loves them back just as much.”

The photographer believes that including Zeke in their wedding was one of the most important things to the newlyweds – he even had a signature cocktail named after him and serve during the reception!
