My Paintings Are Full Of Hundreds Of Lives

From pareidolias to living entities …

In these artworks, just like in Nature, it’s not about competition but cooperation. You won’t create a peaceful & happy world if its foundation is this “competition” myth, where you can’t win anything because it’d mean someone else is losing.

There is another way. Like in a melody, notes don’t oppose themselves but find a path to mutually sublime each other into a harmonious symbiosis.

This is what we have to look for every single day; with every single thought, how could we harmonize our notes with others’ ones to create a melody celebrating life itself.

9 Funny Alternative Versions Of The Paintings In Trump’s Press Photos

If you’ve never heard of Peculiarium, it’s an art gallery based in Portland, Oregon. Recently, the gallery decided that the White House needs a little makeover and replaced the artwork in the background of Donald Trump’s press photos with something a little more… peculiar.

In a recent interview with Bored Panda, Mike Wellins of Peculiarium explained that after the election he felt disgusted and couldn’t believe that Trump got elected. “As an artist, I had to do something, so I was cranking out memes to show my anger,” explained the artist. “Is it more for me or for others? I don’t know,  and kind of don’t care, I had to do something. I have black friends, I have Mexican family members, I’m half Jewish, and I have friends all over the world of all countries, and Nationalism is insanity. I think Republicans are out of control and anti-American.”

Painting Helps Me To Manage Daily Life With Schizophrenia, Here Are My 16 Dragons In Watercolor (16 Pics)

I’m an artist who loves painting whimsical and fantastical things. I love making people smile. I have dabbled in every medium from oil paints to digital. I don’t feel like one should be constrained by medium—I enjoy experimenting with all of them. I’ll use whatever medium I feel best suits the project I am working on. Right now, it is dragons in watercolor. I chose watercolor because I wanted to capture the feeling of the old-fashioned scientific illustrations that I love. After I feel like I have made enough dragons, I plan on gathering the paintings into a book.

Painting and drawing is something I have always done, but I never imagined that people would want to buy my art. My husband saw the potential for me to turn art into my job, and now he sells my artwork out of our little pop-up gallery. I have to admit, he had to drag me kicking and screaming into giving selling my art a chance, and I am glad he did. #2

Being a freelance artist is the perfect job for me because I have a serious illness, schizophrenia, and I never know when I will be able to work. So, I just need to be my own boss. I’m not going to lie, being schizophrenic and just surviving what it does to you day after day is a full-time job. #4

I am lucky enough to have a lovely art studio in my home and a great studio partner―a quaker parrot named Chibi. Chibi is always there to make sure my pencils and brushes are on the ground and that my papers have nibbles on their corners. His most important job is to put a smile on my face, and he does that well.#6

These Stunning Underwater Paintings By Isabel Emrich Will Take Your Breath Away

Isabel Emrich is a Californian painter who creates intricate expressionistic style underwater paintings of women. The artist carefully captures every wave and ripple of water and giving the viewer a unique glimpse of what otherwise would remain unseen.

In her artist statement, Isabel says she forged a strong connection to the ocean growing up in Southern California. The artist expresses gratitude to her grandmother, who used to take her up to the cliffs overlooking the water to paint in the outdoors.

In 2013, Isabel moved to San Francisco to fulfill her dreams of studying at The Academy of Art University. She received a BFA in Fine Art Painting and Drawing in 2016.

“Emrich explores the sensations of peace and calm one feels submerged in water, the dynamism of moving through water, and of the body luxuriantly enveloped in it. A subject’s body may float freely in a pose of complete relief, but the subject’s face and limbs blur with the airy world above, as they break the surface,” says the artist’s statement.

“Isabel explores the dynamics of this boundary with tension and interplay at work – where air and water and light and body converge.  Light plays on the surface, reflecting, dancing in endlessly fascinating patterns.  But it also passes through the water, illuminating what is beneath, bringing out the color and life of the body.”

“Different colors ‘pop’ through the light with the changing visuals implied in a moment’s time. Indeed, being in water is one of most explicit examples one can imagine of ‘being in the moment.’ Time stands still, and once and for all the past and future disappears. Zen-like, one is in the here and now.

“Isabel brings her paintings to life with broad, energetic brush strokes, thick and thin paint qualities, and generous color variety – all hallmarks of Expressionism. In fact, one of her main inspirations is the expressionistic master Van Gogh.”

One day, this guy just kind of figured – “I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, why not turn it into a profession?” – and he did! Now he not only gets to browse the latest cat videos and fresh memes every day but also shares them with people all over the world, making sure they stay up to date with everything that’s trending on the web. Some things that always pique his interest are old technologies, literature and all sorts of odd vintage goodness. So if you find something that’s too bizarre not to share, make sure to hit him up!

This Polish Artist “Photographed Dreams” And Made Them Into Paintings That Will Give You Nightmares

Let us take you on a journey through the curious mind of a Polish artist, Zdzisław Beksiński, who made a name for himself with his dystopian surrealism paintings, filled with post-apocalyptic imagery and nightmarish creatures.

The artist is no longer with us to better explain the vast roster of over 300 of his works, but he used to say: “I wish to paint in such a manner as if I were photographing dreams.” And that is exactly what popped into my head when I first saw his paintings. Even, though, they utilize recognizable everyday objects, those are paired and arranged in ways only the dream world could sustain in a single picture.

These unseen combinations gave birth to mind-bending scenarios, which do build an anxious feeling while looking at them. The artwork is beautifully abstract, yet it does have the power to invoke real world references, which makes it even creepier. The artist’s explanation? Well, it may lie in these cryptic words: “What matters is what appears in your soul, not what your eyes see and what you can name.”

29 Paintings By My 5-Year-Old Son With Autism

Tristan is my five-year-old son who was diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder at the age of three. Despite this life-changing diagnosis, he is still a very and playful child.

One day Tristan saw his older sister painting. After a while, he showed great interest and asked us, his parents, if he could also paint sometimes. I found myself in a little awkward situation because I didn’t know what to answer to my beloved son who’s having difficulty with fine motor skills.

Then, I came up with the idea that Tristan could paint but in a different way and style. The next day, Tristan got his first acrylic color set and right away started splashing, dripping and spraying the pictures.

After he had created a few paintings, we realized that they were unique and rather special. We decided to create an Instagram profile to show off his works. During his painting sessions, I record him and after he’s finished, Tristan watches and analyses his creations back with a big smile on his face.

For Tristan as an autistic child, creating these paintings in his own unique style and for us to enjoy, is priceless and we believe very therapeutic for him. His movements and actions when he is expressing himself and his thoughts through his art are really quite magical.

We want to share these happy moments with you so we’ve created this Bored Panda profile to show the world our cute and special artist and his amazing works.
