#MicroSizeMe –Downsizing is a new reality

2020 Design: #MicroSizeMe –Downsizing is a new reality

Eligible for NARI & NKBA CEU credits*

We read about it every day – Downsizing, urban living, simplifying, millennials choosing different lifestyles. But what does it all mean? Is it just a trend? Is it just millennials?

A trend is something that comes and goes, but this is something deeper. Just like designing for aging in place and protecting our environment, the “Microsize me movement” is one our industry and designers need to take notice of and be proactive about.

“If my clients need these spaces, what do manufacturers offer that will work?” “How can I meet their needs through design and specification?”

We’ll go back to our roots of the basic elements of design to creatively address these spaces.

Feel more confident in marketing your knowledge around this topic and in working with clients of every generation and in any region who ask for this or who would benefit from your new understanding of this movement. #MicroSizeMe

Learning Objectives:

  • What is the “Microsize me Movement”?
  • Which clients does it affect and who and what is driving it?
  • Understand this is more than a trend, it’s a new reality
  • Understand how we address it through design and product offering

*This webinar is eligible for 1 NARI CEU credits and 0.1 NKBA CEU credits.

Every other year the IIDA (International Interior Design Association) Indiana Chapter holds their Avant Garb Fashion Show in Indianapolis, but this is not any ordinary fashion show. Teams for the event are made up of partnerships between manufacturers and either one company or employees from multiple companies in both Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.
