Artist Beautifully Illustrates This Monster Story That’s Been Making People Emotional For Years

Some very few things on the internet stay there forever. And one particular writing prompt released back in 2017 sure has stuck around for a while.

Titled “#Case: 273402 Status: Disastruous,” the story was created by the author Kitten Wiskers, better known as Mindy these days. It follows a little girl named Charlotte Dower who is no longer scared of any of the monsters beneath her bed. It soon turns out, there’s a far worse creature in her life.

The tale has caught the imagination of many, but thanks to the Russian artist Natalya Sorokina, it has now been turned into an impressive comic strip. Natalya, who goes by the nickname jwitless, said it’s her “first colored comics ever,” which made her feel slightly nervous. Let’s take a look at the beautiful set of illustrations below, and get ready for the haunting tale to hit you hard.

The story is known as one of the most shared tales on the internet and it has served as an inspiration for a lot of fan art, including movies. The short horror film titled “Charlotte and the Monster” inspired by Kitten Wiskers’ tale was released back in 2018.

Since its appearance, the tale has been shared so much on social media accounts, it’s becoming hard to pinpoint the exact date it was posted. It allegedly emerged as a writing prompt on one Tumblr blog that was dedicated to stories and poems as well as witty remarks and additions in the Tumblr community.

And Russian artist Natalya Sorokina decided to illustrate it in this comic strip

Fed Up With All The Bad News, This Artist Illustrated The 50 Best Ones From 2019

Fed up with hearing about all the bad news, Italian artist Mauro Gatti decided to look on the bright side and started The Happy Broadcast – an “anxiety-free” Instagram account where he illustrates the best positive news. “We are often bombarded with fear-mongering and shocking headlines that make us feel that the world is falling apart,” says the artist. “However, while it’s important to report on problems and issues, I believe there is so much good in this world that it needs to be found and promoted just as widely.”

When he’s working on The Happy Broadcast, Mauro tries to pick the news that has an international appeal and includes themes like animal rights, climate change, and science. He believes that we need more positive news to realize that the world is getting better, even if it’s only little by little.

The artist believes that negative news is dominating the media because it’s more compelling than little improvements. “Bad things can happen quickly, but good things aren’t built in a day, and as they unfold, they’re out of sync with the news cycle,” says Mauro.

“As humans, we have this thing called “negative bias” that make us respond quicker to bad or dangerous situations,” says the artist. “Nowadays, this bias is getting in the way of our happiness and well-being, and even our productivity because most of the narrative surrounding us (print, online or mobile) is that the “world is ending”.”

Mauro believes we should find a balance between positive and negative news. “From politics to climate change and economy, negative and bad news surrounds us everywhere we go. A potential solution could be to limit the amount of bad news, basically slow down our personal news cycle, adding some positive news to our “news diet” to make sure that our outlook on the world is more optimistic,” says the artist. “Also, it’s very important to invest time to deal with misinformation and the reliability of news sources.”

Artist Illustrates How His Adopted Cat Helped Him Cope With Depression Over The Past 2 Months

Yash Pandit is an artist from Mumbai, India who has been struggling with mental health problems for a while now. And recently he received much-needed help from someone unexpected – a cat named Bagheera.

In an interview with Bored Panda, the artist said he always wanted a dark-colored cat. “There’s always this stupid superstition surrounding dark cats about them being bad luck, so not many people wanted him anyway,” said Yash. “But mostly because out of all of the kittens there, he was the one I connected with, he was very calm. loving and always looking to cause some mischief. I fell in love with him the moment I saw him.”

The artist said that his new cat is a true rascal. “He will convince you that he’s sweet and calm, and then pounce on you when you look away. He’s the most friendly cat I’ve ever seen, has no problem in loving and greeting anyone new. He’s smart enough to pretend that he’s fallen asleep but also thinks his shadow is another cat and starts pouncing on it,” said Yash. He said that Bagheera loves to watch Fresh Prince of Bel-Air with him and that the cat won’t fall asleep until Yash puts on Frank Ocean songs. “I love him with all my life,” says the artist.

The artist suffered from Type 1 rapid-cycling bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety. He says the latter were by-products of his primary disorder. “I have a therapist and a psychiatrist, and I have a strict regime of therapy and medications that I follow religiously to keep my disorder under my control,” revealed Yash.

The artist believes that it’s absolutely important to seek proper health for mental health disorders. “A lot of people mistook this comic as my cat being the sole reason that I’m out of my depression, which is not true. I had to work hard, get therapy, take my medication on time,” said Yash.

“My cat helped me get out of my bed, have a workout routine, eat healthy when I feed him, wake up on time, etc. But I attribute my getting better largely to the strict regime of medication and therapy,” concluded the artist.
