Melania’s White House Christmas Decorations Look So Creepy, People Started Making Hilarious Memes

Now is the time of the year when everyone puts their holiday decorations up to make their home just a little bit cozier and merrier for the upcoming holidays. However, looking at one of the pictures posted online, that doesn’t seem to be the case in the White House this year and the internet, of course, had some cheeky comments about it.

The majority of people found some interesting similarities between the White House room decorated with pieces which, in this particular lighting, definitely remind one of dead shrubbery, and horror films like The Babadook, The Shining, and It. This goes to show that when it comes to Christmas decorations, cheesy and typical will always win over the more stylistically unusual, modern designs. Better yet, it proves that you should definitely think about the lighting when you are trying to convey a certain mood in a picture. Keep that in mind for your family photos.

Every year, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip stay at Sandringham, the royal family’s 20,000-acre country estate where they celebrate the holiday, after the rest of the family leaves to honor the Queen’s father, King George VI, who died at the estate on February 6, 1952. They keep all of the holiday decorations up until that date while they remain at the 148-year-old house as well.
