Kim Kardashian Posts Photos Of Her Mansion And It’s So Empty, People Start Hilariously Roasting It

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are a very rich couple who can afford a very expensive mansion. The pair – who live with their four children – purchased their current home for $20 million in 2013 before starting extravagant renovations which continued for four years. Kris Jenner later tweeted that the property is now worth $60 million. The family moved into the house in 2017 and their fans and followers have been curious about their life inside the mansion ever since. And they got a few glimpses of it.

Not so long ago, Vogue went to visit them. Kim called their place a “minimal monastery” and said that it was inspired by Axel Vervoordt, a Belgian art dealer and interior designer, as well as Kanye himself. She also recently tweeted a few pics of the interior, however, a lot of people seem surprised that her and Kanye’s house looks very empty. Which, according to some, is even more confusing given the fact that the power couple have little kids running around.

Eventually, the internet decided to help them decorate, and everyone started photoshopping things into the mansion. Continue scrolling to see Twitter’s interior design ideas, and check out more Photoshop battles that Bored Panda has written about. Like the one with a badass hawk. Or this awkward half-cat.

Vervoordt said that teaming up with the couple to create the interior for their house was an unlikely meeting of the minds. “I’m not from the pop world, the rapper’s world. But I discovered Kim and Kanye as wonderful human beings,” he told Architectural Digest. “We have common values in life, important human values, like respect for the beauty and spirituality of art. You can call it religion, but this is perhaps beyond religion, a search for cosmic values of peace and positive energy. We had very profound conversations about the space of the mind and the importance of silence.”

The designer and tastemaker explained that these conversations were what guided the vision of the interior. Vervoordt described the process as distillation. “Kanye and Kim wanted something totally new. We didn’t talk about decoration but a kind of philosophy about how we live now and how we will live in the future. We changed the house by purifying it, and we kept pushing to make it purer and purer.”

As a result, many of the rooms in the house were transformed. They became luminous, further accented with pale natural materials. Most of the furnishings consist of Vervoordt’s subtle designs, complemented with works by the likes of Royère and Pierre Jeanneret. “The proportions are the decoration,” Kanye said. However, Photoshop wizards clearly disagree.

Kanye West Makes His Own Furniture

If you keep up with the Kardashians—and it’s hard not to—you know that the family takes a particular interest in home design. Kris Jenner loves over-the-top holiday decorations, Kourtney’s home contains museum-quality pieces, and Kanye West has developed quite the friendship with Axel Vervoordt. In our recent interview with Kim Kardashian, who is an early adopter and adviser for ScreenShop, an app that creates a shoppable catalogue from any inspirational image, she revealed that her husband is not just a fan of the Belgian designer, but also a collaborator. “My husband makes all of his own furniture in his office,” she says.“My office is all Vincent Van Duysen, but Kanye is so good at it, he loves to draw out pieces. Axel made a couch in our house called the ‘Kanye couch’ because Kanye designed it with him.”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Will Have Axel Vervoordt Design Their New Baby’s Nursery—Along with the Rest of Their Hidden Hills Home

With Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s family officially one bigger (the couple reportedly welcomed their third child, a daughter, via surrogate on Monday), the famous pair will undoubtedly be spending a lot more time at home. Based on recent reports, the home in question is a fashionable one, created in partnership with renowned designer Axel Vervoordt. West reportedly collaborated with Vervoordt to design their Hidden Hills home (and, by extension, baby No. 3’s new nursery), providing his input on everything from tonal colors and furniture that was entirely custom made. Vervoordt’s style is one that is both enriched deeply in history and timeless. But it’s also something else that is very important when it comes to designing a nursery: serene.

Kardashian and West reportedly put $20 million into their renovations since purchasing the 15,000-square-foot mansion for $20 million in 2014; a recent appraisal reportedly valued the renovated estate at $60 million. And if West’s tastes are any indication—their recently sold Bel Air mansion was very minimal—then it’s not hard to see why a collaboration with Vervoordt would make sense. The Belgian designer is known for his minimalist interiors. His signature style includes pale-washed walls, salvaged beams, rustic slab tables, and antiques juxtaposed with ancient sculpture and abstract paintings. While this look may not be what one expects for a nursery, it could very well create the calming and soothing atmosphere that will be just perfect for the brand new baby of the celebrity couple. In addition to Kardashian and West, Vervoordt has also worked with Robert De Niro and Calvin Klein.
