Chelsea Handler Lists Her Customized Los Angeles Home for Nearly Double Its Original Price

Chelsea Handler is looking to make good on her investment. The comedienne recently listed her six-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bath Los Angeles home for a cool $11.5 million—nearly double the $5.942 million she bought it for back in 2010. The 5,572-square-foot house is completely customized to Handler’s taste, with plenty of renovations to maximize the classic Californian indoor and outdoor feel. The entire space is open-plan, with living and entertaining spaces leading out onto decks and patios through a whole wall of glass slider doors.

Inside, the house’s decor is cozy and modern, with a fireplace flanked by bookshelves in the living room and an open dining room-kitchen space that seems ideal for dinner parties. According to the listing, four of the six bedrooms are en suite guest rooms (Handler converted one into a gym), with a staff bedroom and a master suite rounding out the rooms. The master bedroom includes an impressive array of amenities perfect for any tenant to feel like an A-list celebrity, including a TV that drops down out of the ceiling at the touch of a button and floor-to-ceiling glass sliders that open onto a curtained balcony overlooking the backyard. The attached bathroom even features a dedicated makeup vanity, a two-person soaking tub, a separate two-person shower, and a dry sauna.

Outdoors, Handler’s home seems like a refuge, with numerous decks, an outdoor fireplace, an outdoor kitchen and barbecue area with a pizza oven, and a 50-foot-long swimming pool and spa. The entire backyard is surrounded by a high fence and a number of tall trees to keep out prying eyes.
