Emily Blunt has, by all accounts, a dream job: She’s the titular character in the forthcoming Mary Poppins Returns and has had acclaimed roles in The Girl on the Train, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, and, of course, The Devil Wears Prada in recent years. But if the actress were to have it another way, she would have a secondary career—as a house flipper. “It would be my dream just to flip houses,” she said in a recent interview with Vanity Fair. “I adore renovating. I love working with different materials and coming up with a different story for each room. I am Pinterest-mad.”
The actress and her husband, John Krasinski, made the move to Brooklyn from Los Angeles in late 2015 after realizing that the neighborhood pace was more her speed, and because she missed “brushing past strangers on the street” and being in “a vibrant, bustling city where you don’t feel isolated.” The pair bought a limestone townhouse in Brooklyn for $6 million near Prospect Park late 2015 but listed the impressive 5,200-square-foot home for $8 million (after numerous renovations and a delayed multimonth move-in) just about one year later. The home includes seven bedrooms and features a large chef’s kitchen with a six-burner Wolf range and custom cabinetry, heated floors, and custom motorized shades throughout the space.
