Caitlyn Jenner’s Malibu home managed to escape the wrath of the wildfires that have destroyed many Southern California homes in recent days, but on Tuesday night, the reality star returned home from dinner to find a different kind of destruction. Jenner’s home, which she purchased back in June 2015, had a good portion of its roof blown off by the intense 60-miles-per-hour winds that were ravaging the area. Parts of the roof had been blown into the pool and other bits were scattered throughout her property. Scarier still, her Labrador puppy, Bertha, was nowhere to be found. Wednesday morning, however, one of the workers who had stopped by to help clear the debris happened to see a dog up the road from Jenner’s home—and lo and behold, it was Bertha. Jenner will undoubtedly call on some expert assistance to reconstruct her stylish Malibu home; in 2015, the I Am Cait star enlisted the help of New York–based designer Lori Margolis, who helped Jenner make over her bedroom and living room. “I think what this transition has done for me is that for the first time in my life I am able to express myself,” she told AD at the time.
