Despite the uncertainty around Trump’s policy on Cuba and what it means for Americans hoping to travel there, the Caribbean island nation still tops many of our dream travel itineraries. And while the influx of U.S. tourists has been an adjustment for the country, they’ve certainly made booking luxury accommodations a breeze.

First, Airbnb expanded into Cuba and made over 4,000 vacation rentals available for travelers. Now, Havana welcomes the country’s first five-star hotel.

The Gran Hotel Mazana Kempinski La Haba is right in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Old Havana, the lifeline of the Caribbean’s largest city. Renovated from the historic Manzana de Gómez building (built between 1894 and 1918), the hotel group has transformed the historic space into Cuba’s first European-style five-star accommodation. The hotel formally opened early this month and rooms start at around $395 per night.

The 246-room hotel is decked out in luxury amenities, including three bars, three restaurants, a rooftop pool, and a 10,000-square-foot spa.

Each and every room, from the lobby to the gym, boasts fun and vibrant decor, paying tribute to local design practices. Work from some of the country’s most esteemed artists is displayed throughout the hotel — plus, there is a petite onsite museum that should not be missed.

Designed by the South African studio Archipolitan, expect beachy neutrals paired with pops of tropical color, soaring ceilings, and lovely indoor-outdoor lounging space.

As for the onsite smoking lounge, the Evocación Tobacco Lounge, you can test out some of the area’s best cigar-and-rum combinations.

Book everything from reservations at amazing local spots to a private chauffeur in one of those pastel 1950’s convertibles. Now you can eat, drive, and sleep in style.
